Tejano Music Awards TV adds veteran radio and television personality Bonnie Hernández as co-host – Tejano Nation


Tejano Music Awards TV announced veteran television and radio personality Bonnie Hernandez has joined the syndicated half-hour Tejano culture program as co-host beginning next week.

Hernández will be joining TMA TV beginning next week. She has spent 24 years as a radio host and currently, host shows with Lopez Broadcasting for their Tejano radio stations in San Antonio, Victoria, and Corpus Christi. She also co-hosts the morning show for an internet radio station based in the Rio Grande Valley.

Hernández makes her return to television after hosting Puro Tejano TV from 2013 to 2014.

TMA TV executive producer and host Elicio Leal stated, “Wow! God works in mysterious ways, doesn’t he? If I had to hand pick a talent right for this show from anywhere in the world, Bonnie would be at the top of my list. The fact that she’s Tejana and Proud, has experience, connections, passion, and an enormous fan base makes me wonder if this is real, or if I’m dreaming. Bienvenidos Bonnie. Thank you for being Tejano and Proud and for being ready when called on by your culture to make a difference and contribute!”

Tejano Music Awards TV is a half-hour Tejano culture program focused on the next generation of Tejano music produced by the Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA). The show currently airs in six Texas television markets including San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Austin, Lubbock, Laredo, and the Rio Grande Valley.
