This article discusses the Disney+ MCU series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, including the cast, crew, release date, trailer, and how it fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There are only a small number of studios that are pumping out more content than Marvel at this moment. In 2022 alone, the Disney behemoth will have upwards of 10 projects released both on the big and small screens. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be the last live-action episodic show of Phase 4, with Secret Invasion kicking off Phase 5 for Marvel television next Spring.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premise
Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will follow Jennifer Walters, a 30-something-year-old attorney, and cousin of famed Avenger Bruce Banner. Walters is struggling to balance her day-to-day life while also trying to be a Hulk, like her cousin.
Our opinion of the premise
She-Hulk has always been a talked-about MCU concept that is finally seeing the light of day. The idea behind the show seems like it would work, and the “Fleabag” approach they are taking to the story can provide some interesting engagement with the fans. The CGI has been under scrutiny recently from people online, but our hope is the comedy and quality of the show can make up for it in the long run.
Where we think this series falls in the MCU Timeline
The timeline has not been confirmed by anyone, and we won’t fully know until the show releases, but there are a few things from the trailer that give some context as to when this show could be taking place. First off, Bruce’s arm and form are both major factors showing when this could be. Bruce is still in “Smart Hulk” mode in the trailer for She-Hulk and seems to have had no injury.
We saw at the end of Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the current time he has already transformed back to Bruce and is still in a sling as a result of his Endgame injury. However, a major factor of the trailer is Walters reintegrating herself into the world and learning to be both Jennifer and She-Hulk. When the trailer goes back to the common world, it is clear that most things are in a normal state.
The best guess we have is that either the events happen so far past Endgame to where Bruce has finally recovered from his injury, or that the show will take place both during and post-blip. The scenes with Bruce training Jennifer could happen during the years in between Thanos’ and Hulk’s snaps, while everything else will come after the events of Endgame.
Most of the recent MCU projects have been easy to decipher when they take place, but it looks like when it comes to She-Hulk: Attorney at Lawwe might just have to wait until the release to fully know when this takes place.
