Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire joins new comedy movie

Schitt’s Creek actress Emily Hampshire is attached to lead a new movie titled D-Day.

Described as a “raunchy female comedy” by Deadlinethis one combines the writing talents of Becky Mann, Audra Sielaff and Andy Roth (One Day at a Time), with directorial debutant Betsy Thomas behind the camera.

Hampshire, whose CV also boasts Mother! and Prime Videos upcoming supernatural chiller The Rigwill play the sexually inexperienced and recently divorced Kate here.

Encouraged by her pals to get back on the saddle, Kate’s particular standards don’t make the process easy, but she’s still determined to make her ex’s wedding day her very own D-Day.

Director Thomas shared in a brief statement: “I am so thrilled to work with the immensely talented Emily Hampshire to bring this hilariously randy script to life.”

Switching back to the Schitt’s Creek universe, Hampshire herself previously suggested that the creative team will definitely collaborate again in the future.

“There’s definitely never gonna be another show, we’re never gonna do this show again, but I’m sure, and I’m not saying, ‘For sure this is happening,’ I’m sure because I know and love these people that we’re gonna do something like that, get together and do some movie or something,” she told
