They did get a great performance Ella Stanaghan in the circle, striking out seven, and surrendering just one hit.

After scoring seven runs to start of their World Series run, California managed only three hits against Virginia on Wednesday night. They were unable to climb out of a six-run hole, scoring just once in a 6-1 loss. Zoey Colburn was the one who scored for the team from the West.

Puerto Rico’s offense was stymied in their first game, as Texas’ Zaneria Hughes tossed a no-hitter on Wednesday. Puerto Rico was only able to put two runners on base, and could not do much more than that. Despite Alejandra Perez pitching a solid game in her own right, Texas was able to score a couple of runs late, sending the Puerto Rican squad to a 2-0 loss.
