Two years after Sony announced morbius, the film finally reached theaters in April 2022 to lackluster reviews. The movie had its flaws, from obvious plot holes and continuity errors to mediocre acting and poor writing and direction and its first release bombed. None of this stopped the film from securing a rerelease only months later.

8 Sony Should Have Gone With The Amazing Spider-Man

Sony missed the point. When audiences made morbius into a meme that didn’t mean they wanted to see the movie again. Hopefully, Sony learned a lesson from the disappointing box office returns. They should have taken a cue when Andrew Garfield captured hearts after his return and redemption in Spider Man: No Way Home.

After Marvel Studios scored the second-biggest box office opening of all time, Sony had a chance to rerelease either of Garfield’s web-slinging entries. With all the honest social media talk of completing Andrew Garfield’s trilogy, The Amazing Spider-man would have made audiences forget about morbius.

Director Edgar Wright is known for his fast-paced comedies with quick edits combined with stellar soundtracks. from Shaun of the Dead to Hot FuzzWright understands the subtleties involved with adding horror elements in his films. Last Night In Soho is a little more serious and terrifying than these aforementioned films, though. It received average scores from critics, but fans of Edgar Wright are in for a treat when they watch this.

Emerging star Thomasin McKenzie opposite Anya Taylor-Joy and her breathtaking voice. It’s a haunting, visual joyride from start to finish. If for no other reason, the movie should be rereleased because it was Dame Diana Rigg’s final performance, who played Queen of Thorns Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones and mrs. Peel on the BBCs avengers.

6 The Northman Is A Much More Engaging Adaptation

morbius was, of course, a loose adaptation of comic book source material. Instead of paying to see that mess of a movie, The Northman offers a much more exciting and visually-stunning experience. As an adaptation itself, the plot is very similar to Williams Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Director Robert Eggers went straight to Shakespeare’s source material, a Norse myth about Saxo Amleth. The bloody Viking tale offers incredible performances by Alexander and Bill Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and a brief but memorable appearance from Willem Dafoe.

5 The Bearable Weight of Nicolas Cage’s Massive Talent

Nicolas Cage keeps fans on their toes. He readily jumps from obscure indie films to big-budget box office smashes. The method actor is one of the most original performers in his generation. And his skill is highlighted as part of the plot in one of his latest movies, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Facing financial ruin, Nicolas Cage, playing a version of himself, accepts a $1 million payment to attend a fan’s birthday party. The CIA gets involved, and Cage has to reenact some of his most beloved characters to save lives. Even the two-sentence synopsis sounds far more entertaining than a rerelease of morbius.

4 A24 Had A Little Lamb

A24 is emerging as one of the most original motion picture companies in recent memory. The studio has a catalog primarily focused on horror but that isn’t limited to one genre. One of A24’s films released when audiences were wary of returning to the theaters is the Icelandic folk tale Lamb.

María and Pétur discover a lamb-human hybrid born in their barn. The couple raises the kid, and then the plot gets stranger and more uncomfortable. Director Valdimar Jóhannsson made a terrifyingly fascinating film far more worthy of a rerelease than morbius.

3 Pig Offers More Emotion Than Morbius

Nicolas Cage is a busy man. In addition to The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the method actor starred in an incredible film about a man and his truffle pig. Instead of watching Morbius perform tests on vampire bats again, moviegoers missed a shot at Cage avenging his stolen swine.

Living in the Oregon wilderness, Cage plays a truffle hunter named Robin in pig. When his prized pig goes missing, Robin experiences an emotional upheaval. The plot takes unexpected turns, and Nic Cage offers much more emotion than Jared Leto did as Michael Morbius.

2 The Snyder Cut Is The Real Second Chance Superhero Movie

Discuss movies that deserve a second chance, and morbius doesn’t break the top ten. The rerelease was an embarrassing miscue by Sony. The studio released the same cut a second time without fixing any of the egregious errors that made the movie a risible meme in the first place. Sony should take some notes from Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
